[She doesn't hesitate to pull away a bit from Frederick, grabbing a hold of one of his hands. With her free hand she grabs a hold of Ronny's. Making sure that the boys were with her and practically by her side as they walked towards the office with the original Cheshire.]
no subject
So sitting was entirely up to her.
The superintendent moved to gather some cups and the tea together, stretching out a bit before pouring some tea that could be left still steeping. It had some minor healing qualities to it, enough for a scratch, minor bruises. nothing that would be more permanent.]
So the question now is where to begin. I could tell you that you've been on my radar for a long time, all seven of you, if only because Gwynne forced her way in. And you all fit the archetypes so well. The March Hare being... Maybe a bit more skittish and a bit less insane, but not everything can be a winning pull, right?
[There's a grin as he passes the tea out to everyone before taking his seat
Meanwhile Ronny wasn't quite sure how to feel about the fact his title-sake was, in fact, insane.]
no subject
So she moves over to the couch giving Ronny a bit of a smile, so he knew that she didn't mind him sitting with her. And when the tea is handed to them, she raises a brow.]
Shouldn't you wait until the rest of my boys are here before continuing to explain things?
[Hey, it was a very valid question. After all, Jay and Daniel weren't there. Though she raises a brow.]
Why were we on your radar?
no subject
[The Cat shrugged as he sipped at his own tea]
Why is a raven like a desk?
[There's a wide grin as he speaks, the emphasis clearly being part of it.]
The queen, the dormouse, the hare, the cat and the jabberwocky. A group of five, just missing one, the ever curious daughter or son. Once all converged and grown, an adventure will be set, all theirs alone. Lead by a man or two or three, just follow the one that has the key.
[In perfect cat fashion of course.
Frederick's giving a frown, pausing in the pacing he was hardly aware he was actually doing. He wasn't used to having energy. He was used to feeling weighed down by how tired he regularly made himself feel. The door opened as Danny and Jay returned, pointing behind him at both of them and the empty chairs. He had no intention of sitting down, and Jay recognized the quiet stance as dangerous just from elementary school, immediately going to take a seat.]
Also yes, you have that to look forward to with Danny.
[And there's a face made by the dormouse.
Ronny, meanwhile we on the couch, tense because of the information being thrown at them, eyes wide as he felt his heart pounding]
B-but how exactly can we hope to do anything w-without any powers..?
[That would be a bit of a squeak to his voice as he spoke because lawl asking questions about a situation asked too much like questioning someone and that he was in danger of getting hurt because of it]
no subject
[It didn't matter that it wasn't an actual threat but for Red, it's what it felt like. Unlike Ronny though she's not afraid to call the superintendent out on it. Though she ignores the whole riddle. In fact, she hates that riddle and she's tense as well. Even as she sips her tea but sits it down in favor of taking Ronny's hand, giving it a soft squeeze.]
How did we even lose our powers?
no subject
[There's a sigh and handswish.
Ronny meanwhile holds her hand and gives a tiny smile over to her]
As for how you even lost your powers, someone has helped the actual Red Queen cross over just enough to cast a spell to affect anyone not born in Wonderland. And seeing as you were all born here, no more powers.
Stab the heart, regain your power, though.
[There's a grin, wondering how many of them would get that little not-riddle. He took his phone out briefly to send a text to someone, pocketing it shortly after and stretching out]
Help from the curious one will regain your forms.
[Ronny frowned a bit, trying to understand as he swallowed hard, shifting a bit in his seat]
no subject
There have been many threats to my group.
[Which is why she doesn't trust others that easily. Just ask her sister. Someone that she used to trust. However, she frowns slightly at that.]
We're not killers.
[Though she was really hating the whole 'curious one' bullshit. That was starting to grate on her nerves.]
no subject
[Frederick has a definite temperment now and Jay glanced over at that, being able to tell he was frustrated and letting out a sigh]
Before he continues, I would love to hear your logic on what makes us part of some group of yours that I, at the very least, wasn't even aware of being apart of.
[There's a frown heavy on his face. This is definitely a side of Frederick that hadn't been seen for at the very least a long time.
no subject
[She doesn't like seeing Frederick so damn frustrated. It's actually hard to see him that way because of how long it's been.]
I never made it so you weren't unaware, Frederick. We've all always been connected in some form or fashion. To an extent even before we all became a collective group.
no subject
[And there's Ronny on the couch kind of shrinking into the corner of it because AHAHA. THIS COULD END BADLY.]
no subject
It always concerned me and I do accept you for who you all are.
[She doesn't comment on the whole being in control thing though. It was only because of Lilian that she ended up like that. It wasn't always that way and in pain or not, she's tempted to just leave the room. Only reason why she hadn't was because of the one sitting beside her.]
no subject
Frederick, I think you'll like this. The actual Dormouse made it himself for me to bring. It's fairly potent, so be careful.
[He knows what that means and he's fine with it. He doesn't care. He'll let it cool a bit before taking a sip. It worked. And it would work more as it went through his system.
Danny stretched out, though.]
So anything we miss? [A shrug from Cat]
A riddle. Kind of. More of a prophecy, really.
no subject
What prophecy?
no subject
It's not a riddle.
[There's a sigh, bored, from cat before looking to Danny who gets it almost immediately. Most of it, at least.]
So all six of us. Gotta say the inclusion of 'or son' is kinda worrisome, though.
[Frederick continued to sip at his tea, stopping the chair pushed from behind the desk from Cat with his foot, moving it so he could sit down.]
Thought you'd like that. And it might be concerning, but you haven't even met the others to bring you there.
no subject
Who's the son?
[Now? She's curious. Though she's also tempted to get up and walk out too. After all, she's tired of these riddles.]
And are we going to meet the others to bring us there?
no subject
[And Cat's standing up to push his chair over to Frederick who's immediately sitting down]
Well, you've met one, already. Very timely young gentleman. Probably never paid him much mind but he's surprisingly more attentive than any of you. [A beat] Mostly.
So the White Rabbit? [Frederick rose an eyebrow from the desk chair, sounding more calm, closer to the tired tone he usually held already.]
Yup. White Rabbit.
no subject
Al?
[That sounded far too damn familiar and she wasn't entirely sure why. However, at the mention of meeting the very timely young gentleman it causes her to frown slightly. Things were getting way out of hand but she's trying to just sit and listen.]
Maybe it's time we meet all of them then.
no subject
That's all the Caterpillar was able to tell us. That if the son truly did exist and wasn't just thrown in as a precaution if Alice wasn't Alice.
[There's a shrug before another student stomps in with a huff.]
Superintendent, you NEED to do something about the timing for these classes or at least the size of the campus it's- Oh.
[And he sees the students. And Red. All of them he recognizes and if they recognize him, even if not by name, he'll shift a bit as Cat raises an eyebrow]
Nevermind.
No, no, Josh, it's fine. So how many of you know Josh Whittmore?
[Relatively blank stares and Ronny will look over and shyly wave to him and get an eyebrow raise from Josh thus putting his hand down and cuddling against Red instead.]
Look, I've only got ten minutes before my next class which is, surprise surprise, an eleven and a half minute walk away. With the one teacher on this campus that matters to.
[Cat will raise an eyebrow before moving to pull a notepad out and write something out on it]
Next time run. You were on track in high school, weren't you?
Yeah, but I'm out of practice now.
[And Frederick's raising an eyebrow at this whole thing, not knowing what's going on or anything]
no subject
I know him.
[She's walked by him a few times on her way to certain classes. Though she honestly doesn't like the look that he's giving. Something was definitely up with that. As was all the things Cat was throwing out there at Josh. Though she does lean into Ronny when he cuddles against her, her hand reaching down to take his in her own.]
no subject
You're not that out've practice. [And his demeanor changed back to how the kids were seeing him before. And in a flash, Josh was sitting on the desk, looking around]
Fair enough.
[And here was Ronny getting nice and comfortable cuddled next to Red as Jay glanced over giving a squeak at the sudden appearance on the desk of the boy, eyes wide]
Wh-what? [And another squeak, eyes wide]
Joshua Whittmore. Varsity track, chorus, manipulators of minds, and- Oh crap.
[He's pointing to Red]
I forgot you when I first got here. To be fair, it's because these two really didn't like you. [gesturing to Frederick and Danny] Tolerated you, not your biggest fans, though. Sorry. You would've welcomed Alice in with open arms otherwise [Sheepish grin]
[All the while leaving Ronny sitting there wide eyed still, holding Red's hand still and so confused]
no subject
[Whether she was being serious or not was a whole other story. She could be teasing. Though she does lay her head on Ronny's shoulder giving a shrug at the mention of Alice.]
You're right, I would've. However, what's done is done. Things will change if and when they change. As for tolerating me, that'll never happen.
[She sounds serious but there's a grin there when she says it.]
no subject
Do we go to school with anyone else that's important?
[Cat and Josh looked over, Josh raising an eyebrow.]
A hare without his speed, yet. If you met your way to unlock that bit, trust me. You'd know. He's stuck in Wonderland with the Hatter and the Dormouse. We lost contact with most everyone else and some are dead.
[RONNY THINKS HE SHOULD FEEL INSULTED BUT HE'S JUST CONFUSED???]
no subject
[That gets a deep frown out of her.]
Who all are dead?
[That was one of the most important question here. Who in the hell was dead and who had killed them?]
no subject
[Josh gave a shrug, lifting a finger to pause any more conversation as he pulled out a pocket watch, opening it and giving a bit of a wince as the outside world paused, even if no one in the room would realize]
The Red Queen used the Jabberwocky for most of the kills, but she took down Alice as her first before killing the Queen of Hearts.
no subject
[Red sits back and listens to what they're being told. How some are dead and others are in critical condition. Also, how the Queen seemed to... Well, she really doesn't want to think about it.]
What're you talking about? Jumping in to help out with her plan.
[She REALLY hated being as confused as she was.]
