What if we don't want to cook at all?
[It was a very valid question]

[The wolf makes a slight face at that.]
Okay.
[Even if he really wanted nothing to do with cooking.]

[For the example, he's turning the stove on for a second before turning it off, giving a shrug.
Meanwhile watch the Stiles to Fox lesson be basically "When we're not around, this is how you cook" "ohgod"]
no subject
[He watches his human closely and cants his head before moving closer. The wolf can feel the heat once he's close enough. Derek just has to make sure the wolf doesn't touch it.]
no subject
We're starting with sandwiches first. Something easy that you don't have to be too worried about taking too long.
[There's a shrug, leaning against the counter with his arms crossed over his chest. The stove had gotten warm, but not too hot.]
no subject
[He's not sure what to make of it but gives a nod.]
How do we do that then?
no subject
no subject
[He cants his head slightly.]
Why do you do that?
no subject
[There's a shrug]
Look, you can take what I show you and use it, or leave it. I'll probably just make some food for you two just in case that you can just eat whenever if you don't want to hunt for whatever reason.
no subject
[We're pretty sure that whatever else was going to be said, isn't. Those eyes change from that steel blue back to their natural color.]
What the hell are you doing, Derek? You're meant to be teaching him how to COOK. Not just make sandwiches.
no subject
[Sarcasm is the language right now, yes.]
Start small, work up. That's what I'm doing. You think you can do better?
[Because he can take a backseat to this if that's the case. He has no problems with that.]
no subject
[Stiles crosses his arms over his chest.]
Yeah, I think I can do better. Because sandwiches, Derek, aren't going to fly. They need something more substantial than that.
no subject
Prove it.
[And don't mind him actively forcing a switch while the fox is very much 'DID I DO SOMETHING WRONG NOW? OH GOD I WASN'T PAYING ATTENTION' mentally. But alas. Now he's out and blinking a bit with wide, blood orange eyes]
no subject
[Stiles sees those eyes and smiles a bit.]
Hey, you. You doing okay?
[He's actively trying to bond here.]

[He bites his inner jaw but watches the fox for a moment.]
I'm going to teach you how to make proper food. That way if you or the wolf take over, or you're both out you'll eat. Because we can't have the two of you not eating.
no subject
Alright.
[And a tiny smile as well, more timid than anything. I mean. He was kind of pushed up by Derek because of the whole 'WELL FINE' from Derek so...]
no subject
Now first thing is first, we're going to be taking a lot of precautions because I don't want you hurting yourself. That means when I show you about the stove, no touching it. No matter how curious you are because it will burn you.
no subject
Got it.
no subject
[That nod gets a smile out of him.]
We're going to make spaghetti and garlic bread. Since you used to snoop around the cabinets, do you know where the big pot is?
[His tone is teasing at that.]

[That smile of his gets a bit bigger and he moves over to the sink.]
Bring it over here. We're going to fill it halfway with water.
