Besides, it wouldn't be that hard and you know it.

[Well that got a verbal warning]
You're going to start running and he'll be itching to get out. He might even get aggravated at not being allowed and because you're not used to him, you might slip up. Hell I come close to slipping up sometimes. And I've got that personal connection with him
[His lack of faith is not because he thinks you are weak but because he knows his wolf can be a dick]
no subject
[His hand clenches around the steering wheel and he clenches his jaw.]
How about you have a little faith, Derek. How about that, huh? I'll be fine and your wolf won't get out.
no subject
[Here's talkin' to you, wolf.]
Pull over and stop the car.
no subject
[Derek doesn't get a response to that, not really. Those eyes, however, flash and Stiles manages to pull the car over. What he doesn't expect is the pull of the wolf. It deciding to 'show' that damn human that he could take control whenever he wanted.
So instead of a human in the driver's seat, there's a big black wolf. We're sure that would look funny to anyone who drove by. A wolf in the driver's seat of a car.]
no subject
You can be a little child sometimes.
[Something he's probably shared before. SO NOW. He shifts to talk about something more serious]
You gonna sit calm for a minute? I'll let you out for a bit if you'll stay still and listen to me for a minute.
[He's looking right at the wolf for confirmation in this]
no subject
[There's a bit of a huff out of the wolf but the hand is nosed at since it was close to him. After all, he could stay calm and sit still long enough for whatever the other part of him had to say.]
no subject
I know his confidence comes off strong, and so tempting to prove him wrong every single time it happens, but try to stay calm about it. Don't get cocky and prove him wrong. He thinks he has a good idea on what it means to share a body with a wolf in general and no matter what I say, he'll probably fight me on 'It's not that hard' and things like that. I know it's me asking a lot, so that's why I'm asking to try. Do you understand?
[All the while giving the wolf pets and attention]
no subject
[Despite wanting to bounce around, to play and run the wolf sits there and listens to Derek as he talks about the confidence that Stiles thinks he has. He does, however, give a soft whine at the not proving the silly human wrong. The human needed to be proved wrong or he'd continue to think things were easy.
However, he gives a bark of understanding and pushes against the hand that was giving him pets.]
no subject
[There's a chuckle as he continues to give him pets, free hand unbuckling the seat belt of the wolf, before his own, moving to open the passenger side door and stepping out so the wolf could run out.]
Don't be out too long, alright? I'll be here waiting for you to come back.
no subject
[There's a bit of a bark at the permission to do it if Stiles got a bit out of hand. And a huff at the mention of trying to form a connection with the human. However, the moment that seatbelt is off and that door is open, the wolf bolts. Taking off at a dead run. After all, he liked being out in the open.
It's probably a good twenty minutes before the wolf comes back and moves over nosing at Derek's hand.]
no subject
He moved to get the back seat available for the wolf to jump into]
You know how I feel about this car.
[So behave. Once the wolf was in, he moved to get into the drivers seat and get settled, opening the front window and getting his seat to where the wolf would have access to it.]
no subject
[The wolf jumps into the backseat and lays down for a little bit. However, the moment that window is opened he moves over to it poking his nose out. Just letting that nice brush of air run over his nose.]
no subject
You've had your fun. Go to the bedroom and let him back in control.
[He even left the door open to the bedroom because he's Derek]
no subject
[Once they get back home the wolf dutifully follows Derek inside. Though there's a bit of a huff about letting the human have his control back. However, Derek's hand gets nuzzled before the wolf runs off toward the bedroom letting Stiles have the control back once he's jumped up onto the bed.
Stiles, however, stares for a moment because...]
What the hell just happened?!
no subject
You showed that wolf who's boss!
[And he's moving to the doorway, raising an eyebrow to Stiles with a smirk that does all the 'I told you so' the actual words possibly could.]
no subject
[He narrows his eyes at his boyfriend.]
That is NOT funny, Derek. So stop laughing.
no subject
It's a little funny. I had you pull over because it was either going to be you shaking in your seat trying to control the wolf, or the wolf just coming out to play immediately. The latter happened.
no subject
And that is the last damn time that it happens.
[It's said with a bit of a growl because god... no. That just, no.]
It's not even remotely funny. So don't stand there and say it is.
no subject
[He's being honest, at least]
He was doing it as an 'I told you so' and I didn't tell him to shift back until now, because those clothes are as good as gone.
no subject
It's still not funny, Derek.
[No matter how true it was. No matter how confident he got. The wolf just... no.]
The wolf doing that could've ended with us in a car wreck.
no subject
[That was not only letting Stiles know but a reminder for the wolf, as well.]
But you two need to work together. Meditate one day, or something. Focus on just you and the wolf and try to bond.
no subject
You know damn good and well that he's not going to back off. So I don't even know why you're even trying on that one.
[He shakes his head.]
Right, meditate. You're out of your damn mind. You know good and well I'd never be able to sit that long.
no subject
I don't need you snapping and destroying something that can be kept from being destroyed if we can help it.
[He's crossing his arms as he pushes himself off the door frame, going to the kitchen in order to get something to eat, opting to just make himself a sandwich for the time being.]
